Handball Academy 2017-18

Sessions starting on Wednesday November 8, 2017
The Malta Handball Association in collaboration with SportMalta invites boys and girls to join the Handball Academy as follows :
  • Ages 7-10 – @ University Sports Hall (Tal-Qroqq) every Wednesday from 16:00-17:00
  • Ages 11-17 – @ University Sports Hall (Tal-Qroqq) every Wednesday from 17:00-18:30
The academy is free of charge.
The academy focuses on technical, tactical, physical and cognitive development. The idea behind this initiative is three-fold; Firstly, it should be fruitful to the clubs by helping in the development of their own athletes. Secondly, it benefits the youth national teams by investing in potential national team players and thirdly, the Academy shall also serve as a means of recruitment of new players. In this respect the academy provides for different levels of attainment.
It is the Association’s firm idea that the academy becomes a strong part of the handball community and that it grows every year.
The end of season activity for the academy participants consisted of a trip to Toldeo in Spain in late June where the U16 boys and U16 girls teams participated the local tournament; 2017 Toledo Cup. The boys’ team also participated in a Beach Handball Tournament.
